Light blue Iris

Iris
Graphite in journal

This is a new Iris in my garden. My friend Lillian and I splurged last year and purchase a few new colors to add to our gardens on the plan that when they multiplied we would share with each other doubling our plants. Lillian.... are yours blooming yet?  This one is the most lovely shade of very light blue and about 30 inches tall.

Wow, Pat! What a beautiful drawing of a tough subject! And how lovely to have your irises blooming! I've just begun to see our local native popping up in the woods. If it every warms up I hope to draw one!

This is so lovely and delicate,Pat. I love the watercolour iris too, they are one of my favourite flowers. I'd like to have a garden full of them :)

Very nice indeed, I also love your flower box from the previous post

Somehow, this seems even more exquisite than the painted version -- maybe because any flower's beauty is more difficult, if not impossible, to capture in black and white. This is really beautifully done, Pat.
