I started a new sketch book yesterday and decided to start with an edge painting.

This kind of painting has been done for a long time and you can find information on this website
http://foreedge.bpl.org/node/923 . I haven't tried it until, after a nice long walk this morning, I noticed that this sketch book would be a perfect opportunity to try. It's fun to do. Just bend the pages so that the pages are flared out and then clamp them till the painting is dry. Use a dry brush method to keep the watercolor from bleeding.
